The beginning of the Death Railway lies outside the town of Kanchanabur. In 1943, the bridge was one part of a huge Japanese wartime project to create a direct route from Bangkok - Thailand to Rangoon - Myanmar to support the Japanese occupation of Burma. Thousands of POW's and laborers died during the process.
Your guide will also show you to the Allied War Grave cemeteries and the JEATH war museum.
You’ll have some time to discover the famous bridge after a speed boat ride down the river. Before returning to Bangkok city, a ride on a local train is also available.
Our chauffeur will then take you back to your hotel as the tour ends.
