In this tour you’ll travel from Bangkok heading 85km north to Ayutthaya Historical Park, the UNESCO-listed ancient capital of Siam 1350 - 1767. As you explore the Ayutthaya’s temples, monasteries, stone ruins and beheaded Buddha statues in the old capital of Thailand largely destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century, your guide will provide you with useful knowledge. At the end of the tour, you’ll return to Bangkok by boat across the Chao Phraya River.

You’ll be picked up at your hotel in the morning. Upon arrival at the park, your guide will show you to the notable Ayutthaya temples including Wat Phra Si Sanphet, part of the Ancient Royal Palace ruins, Wat Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol and Wat Phanan Choeng, which is known for its gilded seated Buddha statue.

You’ll also have a chance to visit the well-preserved summer palace of King Rama IV with its architecture blending Thai, Chinese and Gothic’s; and witness the Buddha's head resting in the tree roots overtaking Wat Mahathat.

After a provided delectable lunch, your excursion will end with a riverboat trip across the Chao Phraya River back to Bangkok. As the boar cruises, take pleasure in contemplating the temples alongside the riverbank.

Our car will then drop you right at the front door of your hotel.

Notes:

• Avoid shorts (they should be long enough to cover your knees at least). Do not wear tank tops and other revealing pieces of clothing. You cannot show your belly button for instance.
• Do not wear hats or anything covering your head. Regarding the shoes, it depends the places but you are generally asked to take them out in pagodas. 
• While disobeying this is unlikely to lead to trouble, showing a measure of respect to the people’s culture and beliefs is generally a good idea. Also keep in mind when taking pictures and using a flash in a temple, not to disturb the prayers of other visitors.
